Fall comes with a lot of traditions at St. Thomas More. We have buyout football games, Picture Day, the Homecoming Dance (although that apparently depends on ticket sales) and many others. For the past thirteen years, another tradition has become a huge part of STM’s school year: Halloween 4 Hunger. If you’re new to the school or simply don't take part in extra-curriculars, Halloween 4 Hunger is a charity food drive where STM students trick-or-treat for non-perishable food items instead of candy. This food is then donated to the local food bank, Neighbour to Neighbour. Our donations help support over 1200 families in our community.
Every pound of food STM donates can make a difference and we’ve never backed down from a challenge. This year, our goal is to collect 70,000 pounds of food for Neighbour to Neighbour but the only way we can do this is with your help. Simply create a group of 2-4 people and sign up at the H4H table in the cafeteria on periods 2, 3 or 4 starting Monday, October 1st.
That’s not the only way you can help out! On Thursday October 11th, Halloween 4 Hunger will be hosting a Hauntober Fest. Stop by the school from 6-10 p.m. to hear great local musicians and take part in fun fair games like pie-eating contests.
