Crystal blue lakes, white stone beaches and nature’s sculptured stone structures that rise from the depths of the waters. It definitely sounds like a tropical paradise found only thousands of kilometers away, however, this serene vacation spot can be found north of Ontario and only four hours away. Welcome to Tobermory! This summer I was fortunate to visit Tobermory with my family for the second year in a row, and once again this experience exceeded my expectations. This vacation spot has much to offer, whether it is sitting in a glass boat that passes over sunken ships, or relaxing on the beaches at the tip of the Georgian Bay. Tobermory offers a diverse vacation destination for all ages and interests. Personally, my most memorable moment of my trip would be rock climbing down into an underground cave and discovering a pool of beautiful spring water. Also, I enjoyed travelling on a ship called the Chichiman which visited miniature islands. Tobermory is indeed amongst the many unique places here in Ontario that most people have never even heard about. So, before purchasing that plane ticket to some foreign place for next summer’s vacation, take the chance to research and explore local paradises that are just outside your own backyard. You will be amazed with what you will discover.
